Week 4

215.1. LAME.

I’m chalking it up to a number of factors: newfound “am invincible weight-loss machine! This bacon cheeseburger and fries from Five Guys will turn immediately to ether once it arrives in mah belleh!” attitude. Not having nursed the baby before weighing (which could count for about a quarter of a pound of weight right there). Slightly decreased exercise over the past week. High-sodium dinner last night. But mostly, I’m going to blame this near-pound on diet slack.

Ironically, this morning, when I dropped off the baby at the sitter’s, the sitter exclaimed, “Wow, you have REALLY lost weight!” And my postpartum belly really does look smaller — even *I* can see it, and I’m my own worst critic. So maybe next week’s number will be more heartening.
